Short Workouts
Whenever possible, break each of your workouts into two smaller sessions. For example, do a 15-minute weight-lifting workout in the morning, then do your 30-minute jog on your lunch hour. You’ll burn an extra 100 to 200 calories that day. If you’re pressed for time, just add in some stair climbing or short walks throughout the day.
Even small bursts of activity are enough to get your metabolism in hyper-mode. For five minutes out of every hour, get up and do something, even if it’s just walking around your office. You can end up burning a couple of hundred extra calories that way and have more energy to get through the day. Our bodies were made to move, sitting for hours on end is just not going to cut it.
Sometimes the solution is simple. Pick a few options and get started today. You’ll feel better and your body will thank you. Think of your body as a machine. Give it good fuel, rest, exercise, patience and love. You’ll be glad you did!
