Question by rwingace: How does Paid Vacation work for Salary workers?
When a company lists the total compensation for a job they often list paid vacation as a dollar amount.
Say your a salary worker and getting $ 800/wk, and the paid vacation is listed around $ 6000/yr.
How can you earn $ 6000/yr for vacation if your salary and get the same pay each week regardless?
Am I missing something? Do you actually get paid “more” while on vacation?

No, you get a salary and if it is $ 12,000 a year and you get two weeks vacation you get $ 500 worth of vacation

If you make 800/week and get 6000 in vacation pay, you must get 7.5 weeks of vacation…sounds like a good deal!
