That’s going to be a fun mess to clean up!

Call poison control to be safe (1-800-222-1222) but I don’t think anything bad will happen.

Look up poison control in the phone book. Hopefully you have hydrogen peroxide or syrup of ipecac there to make the child vomit it up before it absorbs. Hurry up and get the help you need!

Orlistat is a drug designed to treat obesity. Its primary function is preventing the absorption of fats from the human diet, thereby reducing caloric intake. It is intended for use in conjunction with a physician-supervised reduced-calorie diet. Orlistat is the saturated derivative of lipstatin — a potent natural inhibitor of pancreatic lipases isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces toxytricini. Orlistat works by inhibiting pancreatic lipase, an enzyme that breaks down triglycerides in the intestine. Without this enzyme, triglycerides from the diet are prevented from being hydrolyzed into absorbable free fatty acids and are excreted undigested.

If your kid is showing symthoms of sickness after he took the pill take him to see a doctor as soon as possible

Why is everyone saying call poison control? Seriously? Go to the ER!

This doesn’t sound like a drug that’s likely to cause any significant harm, but give poison control a call just to be sure.

Go to a doctor. I don’t know what olristat is…. but even seemingly harmless medicine can have very strong effects on children

thats a diet pilll meant for an adult, get your child to the er NOW dont sit here on the damn computer asking questions. GO NOW! they can pump his stomach and get it out before it takes effect if you get off your butt and GO

yeah ok, thumbs down for telling someone to get a baby that just swallowed a diet pill meant for an adult to the er…sure its better to set here and ask a bunch of teenagers what to do, they know more then an er dr anyway……..you have to worry about kids now a days, seems not enough people do.

the reason people say call poison control is that it is immediate. They ask questions, what medicine or substance, time, height, weight, and tell you exactly what to do. Could be as simple as drinking water, maybe throwing up, maybe not throwing up, maybe go to an ER immediately. They also follow-up and call you for the next couple of days to check on you. It is a fantastic service. Going to an ER takes so much damn time, you could be in serious trouble by the time you got there or waited.

Hope this answers peoples statements about calling 911 or going to the doc, er etc..
