Question by counting_blue_cars: i feel zoned and dazed alot?
ok, so this has been going on for about a month or so now, and tends to happen on and off. its like i’ll feel perfectly fine (could be for a few hours, or a few days … it just depends) and then suddenly for no apparent reason, i feel totally zoned out and like a zombie. almost like i’m going though the motions, but not really apart of whatever is gong on around me. i feel like this a lot when i’m around other people, in stores, ect but most of the time am okay when i’m alone at my apartment and just playing music or writing (i’m an aspiring author). its also been messing with my life a little because i’d been feeling sort of purposeless, useless and like a total failure at life in general … i have no ambition whatsoever lately. but i never used to be like this, so its really weird.

i don’t know if this could have anything to do with it or not, but for the past two years i’ve been on a diet and lost nearly 90lbs (i’m at a healthy weight now, so yay me!) but i’ve been taking multi-vitamins and all that for the past half-year. i will admit that recently i have been eating a little more unhealthy then i normally do, and have been partying/drinking more then normal as well, but i’d started feeling like this way before that. so i don’t know. depression is believed to run in the family (from what i’ve heard, my grandmother had it and my uncle is believed to have bi-polar.), but after researching it for days, i don’t think that this sounds like that either. so i’m at a loss here, i have no idea, but i really hate feeling like this.

Actually Nicole … you do have symptoms of depression and anxiety. Healthy diet, cardio exercise and quality sleep are critical to healthy brain function and keeping your glands healthy. Glands protect our bodies and minds from the effects of stress when they aren’t exhausted. Severe dieting usually depletes our bodies of valuable stores of nutrients. Multivitamins supply very limited help. Nothing can take the place of healthy organic foods. You also need to get healthy oils in your diet (omega 3) for proper brain function. Most american women are woefully depleted of especially magnesium and B vitamins. If you have uncontrolled mental stress, it is also best to see a therapist. Chip
