Question by funit49: Does working out and the diet pill phentermine work? and How should I be working out?
I am 18 and I want to not only lose weight, but I want to gain some muscle. I don’t want to get really muscly with fat, but I don’t want to lose weight and have no muscle. I want to be “lean,” I guess like a dancer body.
I just went through my freshman year of college and I definitely gained “the freshman 15.” My body isn’t toned, and I really don’t weigh that much for my height. I’m 6’1″ and about 165 pounds. Now I hardly have much muscle though.
I want to lose the weight before school starts again in September, so my question is:
Would taking Phentermine, working out, and eating moderately healthy help me lose the weight fast?
And
What workout plan should I be doing, if I want to get “lean”?
–Right now, I’ve been working out about four times a week, and by chance I walk about 40 minutes everyday. I know it’s not enough and definitely walking isn’t like running, but what should I be doing?
I don’t plan to keep using the phentermine after like 2-3 months.

Stay away from Phentermine. I had a friend who stopped taking it two years ago, and here we are, two years later, and her hair is falling out in clumps. The specialists confirmed it was a side affect of the Phentermine.

Well first of all I hope you know that muscle weighs more then fat, second you don’t need to take any supplements that aren’t natural to int erupt your bodies metabolism, your still fairly young it shouldn’t be hard to get toned, or lean for you, if you want tips on how to work out go to rosstraining.com, and I recommend that you go buy your self a jump rope, especially if you want to stay lean…
Before you mix any drug with a diet and exercise regiment you need to consult a professional. Not only for safety, but because so many drugs and supplements look the same but they all do something different. I would suggest you join a gym and make an appointment with a nutritionist and trainer. If you have the will to stick with it you may only need to pay for a few sessions to point you in the right direction. Good luck and finish school.
Your body mass index is 21.7 which means that you are in the good range. Exercising will tone you and you will lose fat around the muscles that you use while exercising and at the same time slightly increase the muscle mass. Phentermine is a double edged swpord. Yes it will reduce your appetite temporarily when you first start taking it, but after a while you become immune to it and will eat and be hungry while still taking it. However, when you stop taking it, your appetite will increase dramatically and you will regain the weight that you lost and sometimes more. Most people cannot fight the urge to eat after they come off phentermine.
No diet pill unless medically advised.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.
